I came to Meditation as a way to cope with the stress I was experiencing which was impacting my health and vitality. From feeling scattered and traumatised a daily meditation practice helped me to heal from the inside out, play a leading role in my own health and find a deep sense of peace within. For me meditation is a profound act of self love as well as a discipline. I have experienced huge benefits in personal growth and autonomy as well as clarity of thinking and a deeper more compassionate connection with myself. My daily practice is now an intrinsic part of my self-care routine. I cannot imagine life without it.

My comprehensive training with the British School of Mediation covered many different styles of Meditation and also involved studying the scientific benefits of having a regular practice. In my classes and 1-1 sessions I often incorporate mindfulness poems and specially selected music to enhance awareness.

I was first attuned to Reiki following my cat Saha’s terminal cancer diagnosis in 2007. Saha seemed to intuitively recognise and appreciate Reiki’s capacity to heal and I was able to share peace and comfort with her during the last few weeks of her life. Reiki supports healing and personal development and offers a direct experience of true relaxation. Having trained in both western and Japanese styles of Reiki it is my intention to follow and honour the original Japanese teachings of Reiki as taught by the International House of Reiki.

I am also a professional cellist, studying at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. I have freelanced with most of the London orchestras, had a principal job with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra for two years and have worked for The Royal Ballet Sinfonia, Orchestra to Birmingham Royal Ballet for over twenty eight years. I love teaching the cello and sharing the wonderful gift of music. I have many years experience in teaching the cello to all ages and abilities and have been privileged to study with some of the finest teachers and musicians.

Through Meditation and Reiki I have made many changes in my life and thought carefully about my own self care routine. I am mindful as to what I put into and onto my body. I am a fully insured member of the UK Reiki Federation and the British School of Meditation and abide by their strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and regularly attend workshops and courses for Continuing Professional Development to deepen my personal practice. These include Reiki retreats with Frans Stiene and Penelope Quest, Equine Reiki with Kathleen Prasad, workshops with William Bloom and Dr David Hamilton and coaching with Ellie Grace. I am a regular volunteer at the Hummingbird Centre for Cancer Support in Launton.

I passionately believe that Mindfulness, Meditation, Music and Reiki can offer profound and lasting benefits to wellbeing.
